Alix Earle Competes in Dancing with the Stars Finale While Boyfriend Braxton Berrios Supports from Afar

The highly anticipated finale of season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars” is set to air tonight, featuring influencer Alix Earle and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, vying for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. Earle has garnered a significant following, and her performances throughout the season have kept fans engaged. However, her boyfriend, football player Braxton Berrios, will not be in attendance to cheer her on live from the ballroom due to his commitments within the football world. Earle mentioned previously, “He’s stuck in football world right now, so unfortunately, he won’t be able to come,” indicating that this has likely been the situation throughout the competition, as Berrios has yet to make an appearance at any of the live shows.
Braxton Berrios hails from North Carolina, where he grew up with a strong foundation in sports, influenced by his family background. His mother, Lee Smothers, worked for a pharmaceutical research company, while his father, Rico Berrios, was associated with a furniture manufacturer based in Dallas. The couple divorced in 2002, but they remain supportive of their son’s pursuits. Rico fondly recalls Braxton’s unyielding passion for football, saying, “My neighbor would come out of his house and yell, ‘Rico, you’re crazy! You’re going to kill this kid’ — but his wife would say, ‘No, he’s not killing him. That boy is going to play in the NFL one day.’” This childhood enthusiasm paved Braxton’s way into professional football, eventually leading him to play collegiate football at the University of Miami.
While at the University of Miami, Berrios majored in finance and entrepreneurship, balancing his academic pursuits with his dedication to the football team. Reflecting on his educational journey post-draft, he commented, “Anything I try to do, anything I write my name on, I try to do it to the best of my ability.” He emphasized the importance of education, adding that while football may one day end, the knowledge gained remains invaluable.
Berrios entered the NFL after being drafted by the New England Patriots and was part of their 2018-2019 roster, receiving a Super Bowl ring after the team’s victory in Super Bowl LIII, despite not playing during that game. His career has included stints with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, and he is now with the Houston Texans.

Reflecting on his recent trade to the Texans, Berrios expressed excitement about being closer to family, stating, “My dad, stepmom and all my brothers live outside Dallas. For most of the last 10 years, I’ve been visiting Texas multiple times a year. It’s going to be a lot of fun being in the same state as them again, and any place family is, there’s a sense of home.”
As fans of “Dancing with the Stars” eagerly await the outcome of the finale, Alix Earle remains focused on delivering her best performance, knowing that back home, Braxton Berrios is cheering for her from the field, exemplifying support even from a distance.
