Swerve Strickland returned after a shocking main event at AEW Full Gear 2025

It was by no means the strongest episode of Monday Night RAW, ending a hot streak of good events, but there were still matches, moments, and booking decisions that stood out as things that fans loved the most, and these deserve some special mention and spotlight.

Roman Reigns Teases Coming After CM Punk

Roman Reigns, CM Pun, Cody Rhodes promo on RAW

  • Roman Reigns, CM Punk & Cody Rhodes opened RAW with a promo.
  • Reigns teased that he’d be coming after the World Heavyweight Championship.
  • Punk vs. Reigns may be a WrestleMania main event.

Roman Reigns is stepping into WarGames to team up with both WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk – two men he’s had plenty of issues with. Monday Night RAW opened up with these three men in the ring together, airing out some of their differences but ultimately making it clear that they were united under one goal; taking down Paul Heyman and The Vision.

As Roman Reigns left the ring, he noted that Punk’s title would look far better over his shoulder. Punk called after him, but Reigns simply laughed and walked away. This was a very intriguing tease, and one that suggests we could finally see a singles match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at some point soon; perhaps at the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia or WrestleMania in Las Vegas. Either way, this was an interesting tease that adds tension to WarGames and beyond.

Gunther Defeated Carmelo Hayes In A Hard Fought Tournament Match

  • Gunther vs. Carmelo Hayes was the best match on RAW.
  • Gunther has been on fire since returning to WWE.
  • John Cena’s final opponent will be an in-form Gunther.

The Last Time Is Now tournament to determine John Cena’s final ever opponent continued on Monday Night RAW this week, as the newly returned Gunther battled Carmelo Hayes in the quarter finals. This was undoubtedly the best match of the whole week, with Gunther putting in two show-stealing bouts two weeks in a row.

Becky Lynch & AJ Lee Join WarGames: Everything We Loved About WWE SmackDown

The November 21 WWE SmackDown saw Becky Lynch & AJ Lee join WarGames, Cody Rhodes attacked, and some great in-ring action

Gunther and Hayes battled in a nice “David vs. Goliath” match in which Gunther looked dominant but Hayes was plucky, putting in a terrific underdog performance in which his speed and agility were focused upon as he managed to take down Gunther on several occasions, rallying the crowd behind him as he came close to winning. In the end, Gunther found a way to victory, though it came in a very thrilling bout that elevated this week’s RAW.

Dominik Mysterio Trolls With A Fake John Cena

  • John Cena’s music hit during a Dominik Mysterio promo.
  • Mysterio had hired a fake, smaller version of Cena.
  • This was a throwback WWE segment that added heat to Mysterio before Survivor Series.

Admittedly, a segment in which the use of a little person as a comedic bit is very dated, though this is also why Dominik Mysterio’s segment with a fake John Cena felt like a throwback to something heels of the past would do. The highlight of this segment was the moment in which John Cena’s music hit, with fans getting trolled by Mysterio, building heat on the AAA Mega Champion ahead of his clash with Cena at Survivor Series.

The concept of Mysterio’s paid actor going rogue and cutting a promo on him was fun, and it made Mysterio look despicable as he attacked this fake Cena. There are certainly better ways to build heat, but this was as good as it could’ve been given the route that was gone for. It was unintentionally hilarious that Rey Mysterio came out to make the save a minute after his son had committed his act, arriving way too late to the scene.

Becky Lynch Delivers A Presidential Speech Ahead Of WarGames

  • Becky Lynch’s “Trump” persona was on full show on RAW.
  • This promo from Lynch was delivered perfectly.
  • AJ Lee led her babyface WarGames team to brawl with Lynch’s team.

Becky Lynch’s character has been seen by many as taking influential from the US President, but that has never been clearer than on Monday Night RAW, with an almost identical cadence being used during her promo to hype up her team and to build towards the women’s WarGames match. For anyone else, this sort of gimmick would be cringeworthy and over-the-top, but Lynch’s delivery makes it work like a dream.

Kyle O’Reilly got the better of Jon Moxley, a new champion was crowned, and the Women’s Tag Title Tournament continued on AEW Dynamite & Collision

Lynch’s character work has been strong throughout the entirety of 2025, and although it may have leaned into being too on the nose for some on RAW, it was entertaining regardless. Eventually, the babyface team emerged, with AJ Lee giving her own promo in response to Lynch. A brawl broke out to close out the segment, building excitement for Survivor Series.

Brock Lesnar Slips During His WWE Entrance

Brock Lesnar slipping during his entrance

  • Brock Lesnar fell on his behind during his entrance on RAW.
  • In a very bland brawling segment, Lesnar’s flub was memorable.
  • The members of the men’s WarGames teams brawled to close RAW.

The closing segment on Monday Night RAW was more-or-less a repeat of the week prior, with members of the men’s WarGames teams taking their turns to emerge and brawl with one another. The brawl itself was nothing special, but there was one unintentional and hilarious highlight that elevated it.

Brock Lesnar came out to settle the score on RAW, making a full entrance in the process. However, during his pose, Lesnar slipped and fell down in a very funny moment. Lesnar isn’t often embarrassed nor does his aura flicker, but it did so on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW and it was something fans will play on repeat for years to come.
