The Senegalese forward added to a dominant victory for the Saudi giants, who had an easy time of it despite being the visitors in Tajikistan. Mane’s shot snuck over the goal line after being played in behind the Istiklol defense by a pass from João Félix.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not make the trip to Tajikistan as Al Nassr, already well assured of a place in the knockout stages, decided to rotate their squad for the match. João Félix opened the scoring in the 12th minute from the penalty spot and defender Mohamed Simakan doubled the advantage for the visitors close to halftime.

The hosts failed to pose a threat against big spending Al Nassr, who still had plenty of foreign stars in the team including João Félix, Marcelo Brozovic and Simakan. Once Mane came on in the 67th minute, it appeared to be only a matter of time before he had a good opportunity to find the goal that arrived in the 84th minute.

Ayman Yahya added one more goal in stoppage time for Nassr, who have now secured first place in Group D. They will finish up the group stage on December 24 against Iraqi club Al Zawraa.

Mane has now scored in back-to-back matches since returning from the international break where he scored a hat-trick for Senegal against Kenya in a friendly match. He has 6 goals and 6 assists in 17 appearances across all competitions this season.
