ASU vs USC live score updates from Maui Invitational championship game

ASU basketball coach Bobby Hurley reflects on last season’s struggles
Arizona State men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley spoke about the Sun Devils’ biggest issues from last season at Big 12 media day on Oct. 22, 2025.
After their upset of Texas in the first game of the 2025 Maui Invitational Nov. 24, the Arizona State Sun Devils took down Washington State the following night, 100-94, and face the USC Trojans on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 12:30 p.m. MST for the tournament championship.
Against Texas, Sun Devils guard Moe Odum hit a late 3-pointer that proved to be the game-winner en route to 36 points in an 87-86 victory. Odum followed that with another 26 points in the win over Washington State.
“I’m in awe of some of the plays he’s making … ” coach Bobby Hurley said in his postgame news conference. “Glad he’s on my side.”

Now at 6-1, ASU can win its first Maui title since 1994, when Mario Bennett led the Bill Frieder-coached Sun Devils to the championship.

The Trojans (6-0), coached by Eric Musselman, beat Boise State behind Rodney Rice’s 27 points in the first round, then defeated Seton Hall, 83-81, behind Ezra Ausar’s 25 points.
Rice suffered a shoulder injury against Seton Hall and his status for the Arizona State game is unclear.
“Right now, we’re just trying to survive … ” Musselman said. “We hang around, hang around, hang around and see what happens towards the end.”
Musselman, hired in April 2024 to coach USC, was an assistant at ASU under Herb Sendek 2012-14.
ASU staged a late rally after trailing 39-34 and is tied at 43 with USC at halftime of the Southwest Maui Invitational championship game in Lahaina.
Massamba Diop’s conventional 3-point play tied the game at 39 with 2:06 remaining in the first half, and, with less than a minute to go, a Santiago Trouet steal led to a Moe Odum pass to a cutting Diop to give ASU a short-lived 43-41 lead.
USC’s Terrence Williams II tied it up with a short jumper.
The Sun Devils hit 52% of their field goal attempts, but the Trojans made 17 of their 28 shots from the field (61%).
Diop leads ASU with 11 points. Trouet has nine and Odum collected seven points and three assists.
Chad Baker-Mazara leads USC with 11 points. Jaden Brownell contributed 10 but has three fouls.
The Maui Invitational championship game, despite its early tip time of 9:30 a.m. in Lahaina, has plenty of life.
ASU took a 9-4 lead, but that margin has been the largest in a back-and-forth first half. There were nine lead changes in the first 11 minutes of action.
Led by Chad Baker-Mazara’s 11 points, USC leads 29-27 at the under-8-minute timeout.
USC began the game shooting 75% over the first eight minutes, but led only 16-15 with 12 minutes left in the half.
Jaden Brownell has 10 points for the Trojans. Santiago Trouet and Massamba Diop lead ASU with six each.
USC is without 20-points-per-game scorer Rodney Rice because of a shoulder injury. ASU’s starters are Moe Odum, center Massamba Diop, Andrija Grbovic, Bryce Ford and Santiago Trouet.
