Kevin Hart is continuing to prove he’s educated himself by shutting down a “gay son or t*** daughter” question with a beautiful response.
The comedian previously received criticism for a series of homophobic posts he wrote between 2009 and 2012. He admitted to The Wall Street Journal that the backlash was “a come-to-Jesus moment” that led him to “step back” and become more “educated”.
“I got a crash-course. It was one that was necessary and needed,” he said of the posts that cost him his hosting spot at the 2019 Oscars.
During an appearance on Ziwe’s YouTube, the comedian proved he is staying true to his word as he gave an admirable response to a tasteless question: his take on the ‘gay son or t*** daughter’ debate.
Hart wants to be ‘part of the change’
Hart responded: “I would rather have two healthy kids. Like, it doesn’t matter to me. Two healthy children and the fact that you have to put them in those categories says a lot about who you are.”
“Oh, no. Don’t you dare,” Ziwe responded, pointing at Hart.
He continued: “I’m just telling you I think the real problem is in the thinker, not the answerer. The thinker. Maybe you should maybe you should just ponder on that for a second.”
Ziwe then asked about if Hart cares more for gay rights or women’s rights, “Rights are rights, you should care about them all. Everybody has a voice and everybody deserves to be heard,” he responded, adding that he wants to be “part of the change” that enables everyone to “be in the same court”.
Hart’s educated responses haven’t gone unnoticed. Comments under a clip of the interview joke that he has had “the best PR training”.
“First time hearing Kevin sound intelligent,” someone else wrote, while another person commented, “You learn from your mistakes”.
