Lawsuit accuses Turning Point staffer and Avondale council member of kidnapping teen

A new lawsuit accuses a Turning Point staffer of kidnapping the daughter of a subordinate last year after he reportedly rebuffed the staffer’s sexual advances.

The accused, who is also an Avondale City Council member, says the claims are false.

Court records show Jeannette Garcia is accused of getting drunk at an election victory party at a Goodyear restaurant last November and sexually harassing an unidentified man she had supervised for Turning Point.

Garcia is also accused on the same night of falsely suggesting to the man’s unidentified daughter that he was intoxicated and may become violent.

Garcia and other Turning Point staffers, with help from Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies, allegedly took the 14-year-old girl until the next day.

Garcia denies all claims and is threatening a counter lawsuit.
