Major celebrity makes Emmerdale debut as dreams come true

Er ma gward! (Picture: ITV)
There’s nothing like a little pre-festive cheer in the form of making someone’s dreams come true in time for Christmas.
Albeit it’s Emmerdale, so the wish granting will be followed by some impending doom, but at least the villagers get some joy for a little bit.
It was revealed that Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) is an absolute superfan of Aussie legend Jason Donovan, as she scraped together every forgotten penny she could find to try and buy herself tickets to see him in concert.
Alas, it wasn’t to be – as the £250 tickets sold out quickly. The Dingles rallied together to try and find some more, but a devastating electrical problem at Wishing Well meant Lydia’s ticket money had to be rerouted as a downpayment on the works.

Watching Lydia’s dreams get crushed is akin to watching a toddler kick a puppy, and, unable to take her heartbreaking disappointment, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) concocts a hair-brained plan to raise some money for the family.
But first he makes things worse with an argument with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and in a fit of rage quits his job. Bad move when their pockets are so empty, and Lydia begs him to get it back.
Joe is not so forgiving, but thankfully Kim Tate (Claire King) has a word or two to say and Sam’s job is restored.

It’s not enough though – so he plans a dodgy shoot on Home Farm land to earn more cash. Lydia is in cahoots with him too having lost respect for her boss after Joe’s treatment of her husband and her stingy contribution to the village fayre raffle.
While he goes off to sort his hunt, an oblivious Kim urges Lydia to get herself down to the village Christmas Market as there’s a huge surprise waiting.
On her arrival in the village, Lydia discovers none other than her all-time man crush Jason Donovan is warming up his vocals.
Can’t wait for the next twist?
