Stoke moved back into the Championship top two with Tuesday’s 3-0 home win over Charlton and the Potters will be seeking another three points when welcoming mid-table Hull to the bet365 Stadium.
Mark Robins’ hosts have won five of their eight home fixtures this season and should be feeling more confident than Hull, who are hoping to bounce back from a 2-0 midweek loss at home to Ipswich.

Stoke vs Hull preview
Stoke have registered seven consecutive bottom-half finishes in the Championship but they have their sights on a far loftier position this time.
Injuries and suspensions are part and parcel for many clubs at this time of year, but Stoke are approaching the halfway stage in the second tier with a relatively healthy squad.
Midfielder Lewis Baker is the only Potter on the comeback trail and Stoke’s depth of talent was clear for all to see in Tuesday’s effortless 3-0 win over Charlton, against whom boss Mark Robins made four tactical changes.
It had no adverse effect as Stoke scored three times inside the opening 34 minutes to put the game to bed and will have been exactly what Robins ordered after one-goal defeats to Coventry and Leicester.
In any case, neither of those performances were too shabby from Stoke, who have the best defensive record in the division and are starting to look the part in attack, too.
They have scored 12 goals in their last five fixtures and look capable of mounting a sustained promotion push under the astute Robins.
However, the same cannot be said of Hull, who have dropped from fifth to 11th after successive defeats.
The Tigers have been exciting to watch, with their 28 league goals second only to runaway leaders Coventry, but only rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday have shipped more goals than their 29.
Hull’s head coach Sergej Jakirovic needs his team to tighten up at the back but there has been no discernible improvement since the November break as the Tigers faced 26 shots in their 3-2 loss at QPR and a further 16 in the midweek 2-0 reverse at home to Ipswich.
An expected-goals against tally of 34.58 is the second highest in the division and their lack of fortitude could be exposed by Stoke, who look solid odds-on shots for a second win in five days.
Sorba can have his say
Stoke are a well organised team with every player pulling in the same direction but they have relied heavily on Welsh winger Sorba Thomas, who is having an outstanding campaign.
Thomas has made 11 Championship goal contributions (six goals and five assists) and that number seems likely to increase against the Tigers.
