How the Big Ten recognized Ohio State football’s Bo Jackson after win vs. Rutgers

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Bo Jackson was named freshman of the week by the Big Ten for his performance in Saturday’s win over Rutgers.

Jackson, a true freshman running back, had 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the victory. That was his fifth outing this season with at least 100 rushing yards.

Quarterback Julian Sayin, a redshirt freshman, is the only other Buckeye to earn freshman of the week honors this season. He’s earned the weekly honor four times while also being named offensive player of the week on Oct. 20.

Jackson is a product of Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School in Cleveland. He was a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Jackson didn’t play in Ohio State’s season-opening win against Texas. Since then, he’s appeared in every game, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

Jackson is the only Buckeye with more than 350 rushing yards this season (835). His five rushing scores are second on the team behind CJ Donaldson (10).
