But the incident during the Bulls-Charlotte Hornets game of a Chicago Bulls guard’s heated argument with a courtside fan only added to the news. The Bulls guard was seen approaching the heckler in a video that went viral, and the heckler instantly got up to give him a fist bump. Following a confrontation with Australian great Josh Giddey today, an NBA fan was expelled from the Charlotte Hornets home court venue (AEDT).

Giddey was spotted arguing angrily with a fan with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter as the Bulls were losing the game.Hoops Alerts claims that the fan referred to him as “pedo.” Giddey addressed him, and the Australian celebrity had some words for the heckler while being detained by the official.AAP reports: “With 1:16 left on the clock and the Bulls trailing 119-112 in Charlotte, a sunglass-wearing male supporter got under the skin of Giddey prior to a Chicago in-bound play. The fan called out, taunting the Boomers gun, as he danced and ‘flipped the bird’.”Giddey approached the supporter seated in the second row, but the referee intervened.“You’re making jokes you don’t know sh*t about,” he said.The man was taken away by security when they arrived. The game commentator did a superb job as he got ejected: “It’s a bad sign when you’re wearing sunglasses inside.”Security showed there and led the supporters out of the arena before Josh Giddey left. A few fans were heard shouting that the fan had done nothing.Giddey was questioned about the incident following the game.“He just said something I didn’t like and I went over to him – that was it.. Security took him out and that was the end of it.”
Josh Giddey shines again but Bulls fall to Hornets, in a challenging match
Giddey’s All-Star level performance at the beginning of the 2025-26 NBA season still took place in Charlotte, but the Bulls couldn’t win, losing 123-116 in an NBA Cup match despite Giddey’s incredible stats of 25 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists in 33 minutes of playtime. The 9-9 Bulls who were at the lowly sixth place but were showing signs of recovery after their 6-1 start, had the player, Giddey, who is now giving them 20.5 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.5 assists on average.
