Netflix fans will see a familiar face alongside Cameron Diaz in upcoming movie

A fan favorite actor is joining Cameron Diaz in Netflix action-comedy Bad Day, which is currently in production. The star will wow fans, given his past history in Parks and Recreation

A Parks and Recreation favorite is teaming up with Florida-native Cameron Diaz for her upcoming movie that’s currently being filmed.

Cameron Diaz, 53, famous for her performances in hit movies like Charlie’s Angels, There’s Something About Mary, The Holiday and Shrek, is making her comeback to star in Netflix action-comedy Bad Day.

Giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect, the streaming platform has released a short summary: “Let the chaos begin: Cameron Diaz will star in Bad Day, an action comedy about a single mom fighting to keep one little promise to her daughter on the absolute worst day of her life.”

Further details about this “little promise” are being kept secret for now, although a list of cast members joining the 53 year old star has been announced.

Much to the joy of Parks and Recreation fans, it has been confirmed that actor Ben Schwartz, 44, will appear in Bad Day, reports the Express.

From season two through series seven, Schwartz played the arrogant Jean-Ralphio Saperstein alongside stars like Chris Pratt, Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman.

While Schwartz is best known for Parks and Recreation, he has also appeared in many other shows including The Afterparty, Die Hart, Staged and Space Force.

His IMDb page shows he is also scheduled to star in the coming action-comedy Mike and Nick and Nick and Alice with Vince Vaughn and James Marsden.

A number of other celebrities will be joining Diaz and O’Neill in the upcoming film. The star-studded cast includes Sam Richardson from Ted Lasso, Ed O’Neill of Modern Family fame, Danielle Brooks known for Orange Is The New Black, and Mark Duplass from The Morning Show.

Production has already begun in New Jersey, but the official release date is still under wraps.

Bad Day is a reunion project for Diaz and producer Beau Bauman, who previously worked together on the film Back In Action with Jamie Foxx.

The action-comedy climbed to the sixth spot on Netflix’s Most Popular list after a strong seven-week stint on the streaming platform’s Global Top 10 Movies list in English.

Bad Day will be streaming exclusively on Netflix.
