The streak nobody noticed: De’Von Achane chasing something Ezekiel Elliott did in 2018

De’Von Achane is putting together the kind of streak that sneaks up on casual fans but jumps off the page for anyone who loves rare NFL numbers. If he hits 100 rushing yards and five receptions again on Sunday against the Saints, he’ll become the first player to do it in three straight games since Ezekiel Elliott pulled it off back in 2018. That’s seven seasons without anyone matching the combination of explosive running and high-volume receiving he’s showing right now.
What makes it special is how balanced the production is. Most backs hit milestones because they rack up carries or dominate in the short passing game. Achane is doing both, slicing through defenses with his burst while also becoming one of Miami’s most reliable targets. The Dolphins haven’t had starting right tackle Austin Jackson for most of the season, and their run– and pass–blocking have suffered without him, but Achane has still found ways to produce through sheer speed and timing.
The streak is more than a fun stat. It suggests Achane is evolving into one of the league’s most complete backs right as Miami needs a spark. If he keeps this up, he won’t just join Elliott in the record books, he’ll change how defenses prepare for Miami entirely.
