Here is what we know about the rain warnings that have been issued by the Met Office:
- Yellow rain alerts are in place for Monday, December 1. Heavy downpours are forecast for Wales. The weather warning is in place until 3am am Tuesday morning.
- Over 100 mm of rain could fall across exposed hills in Wales and western England by the end of Monday – around half of what would typically be expected to fall throughout the whole of December.
- There are already 12 flood warnings or alerts in place across North Wales. The warning is in Beddgelert while there are alerts across the whole region. A full list is here.
- A Flood Alert means flooding is possible and to be prepared while a warning means flooding is expected – immediate action required.
- There are a number of roads affected, including A5114 Glanhwfa Road on Anglesey which is partially blocked due to flooding from Llangefni Link Road to Tan Y Fron.
- Strong south to southwesterly winds will also accompany the heavy rain, with gales possible around coasts and over high ground.
