The Elder Scrolls 6, Half-Life 3, or new God of War reveals could be imminent according to hopeful fans who’ve been sent spiralling over a cryptic Geoff Keighley post – or, “most likely a Diablo 4 expansion”

Geoff Keighley is back at it again, folks – another cryptic post regarding The Game Awards is making rounds online, with fans trying to figure out if it’s a sign that news of Half-Life 3 or The Elder Scrolls 6 (or *insert exciting new game here*) will get a reveal.
It’s the Steam wishlist screenshot all over again, except this time, it’s not just Half-Life 3 that people are expecting to see at The Game Awards this year. Basically, Geoff Keighly – host of The Game Awards – left a very mysterious image online with an even more confusing tagline above: “regal.inspiring.thickness.” The picture shows some sort of tree root or rock formation surrounding what appears to be a set of doors… but it’s difficult to tell.
The entire thing appears as armored corpses climbing one another, with some demonic entity and animal faces mixed in for good measure – is that a crocodile?! Nobody can figure it out, though, and expectedly, everyone is theorizing that this just has to be a teaser of their favorite new games being at The Game Awards 2025. Comments see fans speculating that, “Based on what others are saying and previous rumors, it seems to be teasing God of War in Egypt.”

Other replies point to a title I personally can’t get off my own mind: Bethesda Game Studios’ upcoming Elder Scrolls. “ELDER SCROLLS 6. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, LET IT BE ELDER SCROLLS 6,” as one response shouts – hopefully not into the void? Threads on other forums like Reddit echo this sentiment, with people joking that the Skyrim successor is “confirmed,” crudely photoshopping a “VI” over Keighley’s strange… er, statuething?
Confirmed! from r/TESVI
Somebody else jokes, “Has 3 sides, Half-Life 3 confirmed.” Unfortunately, however, it’s becoming increasingly likely that it’s no grand RPG or shooter at all – there’s a solid chance it’s simply a new Diablo 4 DLC reveal. As one post notes, “The statue is lighting up at night! From all the evidence, this is most likely a Diablo 4 expansion, not God of War, as Diablo fans have pointed out that the demons match D4’s designs.”
Attached is a photo of the structure glowing red, and it certainly does carry quite a Diablo vibe. While what previously looked to be Jörmungandr, Norse mythology’s World Serpent, is still there, everything else is far more Diablo-y than Gods of War-esque. The “doors” seem to lead into ribcages (but that’s purely speculation, as is all of this). Others do agree that it’s a potential sign of more Diablo 4 to come, though.

As a separate thread’s poster jokes, “‘IT’S THE ELDER SCROLLS 6! IT’S FALLOUT NEW VEGAS 2! IT’S HALF-LIFE 3! IT’S GOD OF WAR EGYPT! IT’S SAROS!’ In typical Geoff Keighley fashion, it looks like it is none of those.” Instead, it seems like “just a Diablo 4 expansion announcement.” I’ve got to say, I’m bummed out myself. While there’s no telling if it’s truly Diablo-related, it’s sounding increasingly likely.
So there you have it – probably not The Elder Scrolls 6… even though, you know, a grueling seven years have now passed since the RPG debuted with its short teaser trailer at E3 in 2018. Here’s hoping we all somehow get what we want in the end at The Game Awards.
The Game Awards 2025 has Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 as the most-nominated game in the show’s history, while Arc Raiders is up for just one category
