School principal stabbed in shock incident

A principal has reportedly been stabbed at a high school in another knife incident in Melbourne.

Victoria Police said the man was to hospital and another arrested over the alleged stabbing at Keysborough Secondary College in the city’s southeast on Tuesday afternoon.

A second man has been arrested.

“It is alleged a male assaulted another man at a secondary school about 3pm,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Officers quickly arrived on scene and arrested a man and will be interviewed.

“The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a stabbing.

“At this stage investigators believe the people involved are known to each other.”

Students told the Herald Sun the principal had been stabbed just before the final bell went.

In a text to parents, Keysborough college said the Acacia campus had been put into lockdown.

“I can confirm all students are safe and any students still inside the school will be permitted to leave shortly,” the text said.

The Labor Allan government in Victoria has introduce new laws adding three years jail time for knife-related crimes following recent violent incidents including a random stabbing in Melbourne’s CBD and deaths of two boys in Melbourne’s west.
