Popular WWE Star Teases Return After Signing Legends Deal

A popular WWE star is waiting for the call to return for a role inside or outside the ring. Fans have seen several prominent wrestling stars return in recent years after working with All Elite Wrestling, including Aleister Black and Rusev.
Black has since teamed up with his real-life wife, Zelina Vega, and based on recent remarks, the same could happen with Rusev. His real-life wife, CJ “Lana” Perry, recently spoke about her situation with WWE and a potential return.
Lana announced that she was “shocked” upon signing a WWE Legends deal, which she first revealed on her podcast last week.

“I understand that there’s a huge difference between the character Lana and Randy Savage on the legends scale,” she said, addressing the criticism she received, adding, “But this is what WWE calls their contracts post being a WWE superstar.”
“They gave Miro a contract, and they gave me a WWE Legends contract at the same time,” she indicated during her appearance on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet.”
Van Vliet spoke about how the Legends deal meant WWE could use Lana’s likeness in video games and action figures, and that she could make appearances for WWE. She mentioned she could “also be put in storylines,” which prompted Van Vliet to ask if fans might see Lana return.
“Well, Lana is simply waiting for her first ex-husband, Rusev, to give her a call,” she told him in her fake Russian accent.
“You know, I would love to, and I just think it’s all about timing and story. But I’m always ready,” Lana said.
She indicated that her husband was eager to get back to work with WWE after participating in AEW. Along with that, Lana said she truly misses the crowd reactions, whether they’re booing or cheering for her.
“It’s a dopamine high. It’s the greatest adrenaline rush I’ve ever felt in my life. All of the stress and anxiety when you go out there and make this personal connection with all the people out there. I have such a connection with fans,” she said, admitting she also liked stirring the pot.
She and Rusev, who went by his name Miro, joined Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling in 2023. During a storyline, she took over as Andrade El Idolo’s manager, which set up a match between Miro and Andrade at World’s End in 2023. Miro won because CJ turned on Andrade, which was also CJ’s last appearance with AEW.
Her Legends contract arrived in April of this year, and now it seems she’s ready for an opportunity to return in any capacity. That could always mean WWE fans will see Lana as a surprise entrant in the 2026 Royal Rumble, or popping up to help Rusev sometime in a match or feud.
