Aikey, Evans Semifinalists for Hermann Trophy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) have announced the 15 women’s semifinalists for the 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy, based on voting by NCAA Division I women’s soccer coaches.
The list includes Stanford seniors Jasmine Aikey and Elise Evans. For Aikey, the semifinalist selection is the second of her career after earning the nod in 2023.
Aikey has been named All-ACC first team, ACC Championship MVP and ACC All-Tournament, and is a finalist for TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year. The native of Palo Alto, Calif. has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, has a goal in 15 of the 23 contests this year, and has contributed at least a point in 19 of the 23 matches. Aikey owns five multi-goal matches this season, including posting a brace in two of Stanford’s four NCAA Tournament matches entering the College Cup. Aikey leads the team in total points with 51, including a team-high 20 goals (six game-winners) and 11 assists. The 20 goals, fourth-most nationally this season, rank tied for fifth in a single season in program history, while her 51 points are fifth in Stanford history and one short of the national leader this season. Aikey has contributed 42 career goals to rank tied for ninth in Stanford history, while her 113 points rank 10th. Showing a knack for scoring in big games, Aikey owns 11 postseason goals to rank third in Stanford history, while her nine postseason assists rank second only to Catarina Macario’s 14 from 2017-19.
Evans has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Year, All-ACC first team and ACC All-Tournament. A team captain and the team leader in minutes played with 1,976 at center back, Evans has accumulated seven goals, including two game-winners, and six assists for 20 points. She recorded her first career multi-goal match on November 21 vs. Alabama in the NCAA Tournament second round, and managed a pair of assists in Stanford’s 7-0 victory vs. San Francisco to open the season. Evans has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week and has helped the Cardinal limit opponents to 23 goals (1.00 per game) on 186 total shots – including just 75 on frame. Stanford has managed eight shutouts this year with Evans directing the back line.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967. Most recently, Michael Adedokun (Ohio State) and Kate Faasse (Duke) received the award for outstanding intercollegiate performances last year.
Highlights from this year’s list include two returning semifinalists, Florida State junior forward Jordynn Dudley and Notre Dame sophomore forward Izzy Engle.
A Cardinal player has claimed three of the last eight MAC Hermann trophies, with Andi Sullivan earning the award in 2017, followed by Catarina Macario becoming a back-to-back winner in 2018 and 2019. Kelley O’Hara was the first Stanford player to win the MAC Hermann Trophy at the conclusion of the 2009 season. O’Hara was followed by Christen Press (2010) and Teresa Noyola (2011) to bring Stanford’s total to six winners.
Three women’s finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 9, 2026, to formally announce this year’s winners.
Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite player. Go to MACHermannTrophy.org for the women’s semifinal ballot.
