Virat Kohli Pips Shubman Gill To Go Closer To Rohit Sharma In ICC ODI Rankings

Virat Kohli’s 52nd One-Day International (ODI) century in the first match of the series against South Africa has taken him closer to the top of the ICC ODI rankings for batters. Kohli moves into fourth place, going past Shubman Gill and is just 32 rating points behind Rohit Sharma.

Rohit is still at the top of the pile with 783 rating points. He slammed a superb fifty in the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi to further extend his lead at the top. Kohli is no stranger to being at the top of the rankings. He was at the summit for over three years before Babar Azam overtook him in April 2021.

Other than Kohli, Rohit and Gill, Shreyas Iyer is the only other Indian batter in the top 10.

Among the bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav’s match-changing four-wicket haul saw him move to sixth in the latest rankings for ODI bowlers, going past New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner. Kuldeep is the highest-ranked Indian bowler, with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami among the top 20.

Among the T20I all-rounders, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has regained his place at the top, edging out Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.
