Clean up project for six Sandwell towns

Public spaces in six West Midlands towns are set to get a clean-up as part of a project by Sandwell Council.

Running until February, “green hit squads” will work to cut back overgrowing foliage, clear litter, strim and edge grass, remove moss and collect leaves.

The scheme will target Tipton, Wednesbury, West Bromwich, Oldbury, Rowley Regis and Smethwick.

Councillor Keith Allcock said the authority wanted to make Sandwell a “cleaner, greener and safer place to live.”
