Liverpool now in ‘very advanced talks’ to sign attacker who’s a better dribbler than Eberechi Eze

Liverpool are already making moves to freshen up their attack after a slow start to the season.

The Reds have not been themselves since clinching the Premier League title, with their form certainly not reflective of a team who are the reigning champions.

Their defence has been leaky but their attack has also been less free-flowing than usual, with fans a little worried.

Liverpool, however, are already looking forward to the next few transfer windows and planning ahead, with the club believing that new recruits could help solve their issues.

There is one star as well who they are said to be in ‘very advanced talks’ with, and he shares similarities with Arsenal star Eberechi Eze.

It might be quite early to be talking transfers, but in Liverpool’s case, it is needed as something needs to change, and fast.

They have been linked with a few stars, mainly in attack, but one name that has been mentioned a few times is Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old has been tearing it up for RB Leipzig as of late, with this catching the eye of a few top teams, and Liverpool are one of them.

In fact, according to Sky Sports Switzerland, Liverpool are in ‘very advanced talks’ to sign the winger alongside Tottenham, suggesting this story could start to gain some traction.

They report that he is a ‘serious’ option for the Reds to freshen up their attack, with the 19-year-old a similar type of player to Eze.

In fact, he is an even better dribbler than the Englishman, with Diomande completing 2.8 dribbles per game according to WhoScored.com, which is more than Eze who ranks third in the Premier League in this metric.

He has four goals and as many assists for Leipzig this season, showing how he is really coming into his own, making it no surprise that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on him.

Jurgen Klopp could benefit Liverpool in signing Yan Diomande

One reason why Liverpool might have a big advantage in the race for his signature is because Jurgen Klopp could play a key role in persuading him to join.

As the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull, the former Reds boss has some say in the transfer dealings that are happening, meaning he could tempt Diomande to make the switch to Anfield above anyone else.

With Mohamed Salah slowing down a bit too, there could be a spot opening up in this part of the pitch, meaning that Diomande would have a clear chance to prove himself.

With Spurs and Barcelona also interested, there could be a bit of a bidding war for the young star in the near future, but what is clear is that Liverpool have thrown their hat into the ring early, which can only be a positive sign.
