Collecchio, 3 December 2025 – Coach Carlos Cuesta’s comments on the day before the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa round of 16 game against Bologna, as he spoke in an interview with Mediaset.
The Coppa Italia is back with a match against Bologna. How are Parma going into this?
“We’re back with the drive to put in a great performance and to progress to the next round. We’re coming off the back of a difficult defeat, and it’s definitely not what we wanted to give our fans. We wanted it to be a day of celebration, but that’s behind us now. Now we want to focus on everything that needs improvement and use it as an opportunity so that tomorrow we can put in a great performance.”
How do you expect that match against Bologna to play out?
“It will be a tough match; they have a very clear and well-defined playing identity. They’re a very aggressive and vertical team; we’ll try to steer the game as much as possible in the direction we want and give ourselves the best chance of a good result”.
It’s a midweek match, so will there be any changes to the line-up?
“We have to assess how the boys are doing, and then we will make the best choices possible to come together as a competitive side.”
Bologna won the last edition of the Coppa Italia, how far away is Parma from achieving something like that?
“Right now, we’re only focusing on Thursday’s game and want to carry on our trajectory of improvement. They’re an established team who play in the Champions League and have achieved incredible feats like winning the Coppa Italia last season. We need to carry on working towards our path to improvement every day, both as a team and as a club. And focus on the present to become a club like that, slowly but surely.”
