Casemiro is primed for a huge financial boost from elsewhere over the coming months – despite his Man United contract expiring next summer.

Manchester United star Casemiro will receive £247,000 from former club Sau Paulo after a formal agreement to settle a labour dispute was reached, according to reports in Brazil. The midfielder signed for Real Madrid from his boyhood club in 2013, but has continued to be affiliated with Sao Paulo due to claims of owed money.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL, via Sport Witness, the case, that has been active since 2014, is now closed with £247,000 agreed as the payment to the 33-year-old. He will in turn be will set for a nice end-of-year financial boost in addition to his hefty weekly wage.
The claim, which is linked to employment-related payments from his academy days, was believed to be roughly £290,000, though the final figure is slightly below that. Included in the case was image-rights charges, match-related earnings along with bonuses and holiday entitlements which are considered standard contractual add-ons.
Casemiro will receive the payment on a monthly basis, but he could actually take in up to £363,000 if Sau Paulo do not keep up with the payment schedule. They have agreed to those terms with regional labour court approving the settlement this week.
Next month, Casemiro will be free to discuss joining clubs outside England having entered the final six months of his United contract. A departure this past summer appeared to be inevitable, but the veteran midfielder remained and has rewarded Ruben Amorim for keeping the faith.
With United only playing once most weeks, Casemiro has been performing at a high level, but his fitness could be tested over the coming days.
He played the entirety of the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend with his minutes likely to now be managed as Amorim’s team take on West Ham United, Wolves and Bournemouth over the next 12 days. Casemiro could miss one of those games through suspension as he’s on four yellow cards in the Premier League.
Following the Bournemouth meeting, Amad, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui will all become unavailable as they head off to AFCON. Despite some injury problems throughout the pitch, United have lost just one of their last seven Premier League games which sees them eighth in the table.
A victory over the Hammers will move them up to fourth position with every other team having already played in game-week 14.

Asked in his press conference about getting into the Champions League places and staying there, Amorim said: “I understand the question and if the table is there, if you have the opportunity. one game per week, you need to go for it.
“But then you look at the table and everyone is like two points behind. Everything can change in one week.
“Let’s focus. I think the best way of doing things, especially with our team, is to focus just on the next game. If we win the next game we will maintain the position at least. That is the main focus.
“To go in the position of Champions League in the next weeks, yes, it is realistic. The future, I don’t know. I want to continue near that position next week. The rest we will see.”
