Notre Dame Hits The Road For Top-20 ACC/SEC Challenge

OXFORD, Miss. — No. 18 Notre Dame will head to new territory on Thursday, as the Irish (5-1) will play Ole Miss (7-0) in this year’s ACC/SEC Challenge. Notre Dame has never played at Sandy and John Black Pavilion in Oxford, and the game will tip off at 9 p.m. ET. Tiffany Greene and Carolyn Peck will be on the call for the ESPN2 broadcast.
NOTES
- Notre Dame is coming off an 83-51 victory over Central Michigan on Nov. 24. Hannah Hidalgo led the Irish with 25 points, but KK Bransford (12), Iyana Moore (12), Cassandre Prosper (11) and Gisela Sanchez (10) also scored in double-figures. Malaya Cowles led Notre Dame with seven rebounds as well.
- The Irish recorded 22 steals against the Chippewas, marking the first time Notre Dame has posted two games with 20+ steals since 2012-13.
- Notre Dame leads the nation with 18.3 steals per game, and Hidalgo leads individual performers with 6.2.
- The Irish rank 32nd nationally with a field goal percentage of 47. Notre Dame is the only ACC team with two players shooting better than 50 percent — Prosper (53.7) and Bransford (50.8).
- Thursday’s matchup pits two of the nation’s best scoring offenses against each other; the Irish average 82.8 points per game (24th nationally), and the Rebels sit at 83.7 (21st nationally).
- Notre Dame is 1-0 all-time against Ole Miss with the lone showing coming in the Second Round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Irish defeated the Rebels in South Bend, 71-56.
