Counting down the days to the Toronto Blue Jays 2026 season? Here’s when it starts

Although we still have a few months before the Toronto Blue Jays swing into action for the 2026 baseball season, I’m already counting down the days before the team hits the field.

After making it all the way to the World Series in 2025, the schedule for next year’s games has been unveiled for fans to begin planning ahead.

Here’s a look at what’s to come.

Opening Day will become Opening Night in 2026, now taking place on March 27 at 7:07 p.m. Although the game was originally scheduled for the afternoon of March 26, this will be your chance to watch the AL Champions hit the mound for the first time next year.

Game times for the 2026 Blue Jays home schedule will remain the same as last season, running on weekdays at 7:07 p.m., aside from eight select afternoon games.

These weekday matches will run at 3:07 p.m. on the following days.

  • April 8 vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers
  • April 29 vs. the Boston Red Sox
  • July 1 vs. the New York Mets
  • July 23 vs. the Tampa Bay Rays
  • Aug. 13 vs. the Boston Red Sox
  • Sept. 16 vs. the Detroit Tigers

Additionally, School Day will be returning for two afternoon weekday games at 1:07 p.m. on April 1 and May 27.

When it comes to the weekend, fans can expect to watch the team begin at 3:07 p.m. on Saturdays and on Sundays, games will kick off at 1:37 p.m., except for the final match of the regular season on Sept. 27 at 3:07 p.m.

And if you’re looking to get in on all the action, the Jays are now hiring for 2026 game day roles.

A look back at the 2025 Toronto Blue Jays

Not only was Toronto transformed into a sea of blue over the playoff season, but so were many places throughout Canada.

Across the country, the Blue Jays were the number one searched item on Google when it came to news and events in 2025.

When it came to the questions people were asking the search engine this year, the second most popular was “What time is the Jays game today?”

And the top four searched athletes in Canada in order were Trey Yesavage, Bichette, George Springer, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

So, it’s safe to say, our country goes hard for the Jays. Let’s be sure to bring the energy all the way into next year.
