The Met Office has predicted Liverpool will face heavy rain and strong winds today. The weather agency’s latest forecast for the city said it will be cloudy with sunny intervals until around 2pm this afternoon, when it will start raining.

From 3pm until 5pm, that will likely turn into heavy rain, followed by light rain for the rest of the evening. There will be strong winds throughout this period, with gusts of up to 47mph. Temperatures will be around 5C this morning and are not expected to get above 8C.

However, it will feel like its 4C in reality with the rain and wind. In total, there will be around 18 hours of rain on and off until 8am tomorrow when we should see drier weather. The Met Office’s forecast for the North West of England reads: “Turning wet and windy this evening.

“Today: Bright spells possible during the morning but turning increasingly cloudy ahead of rain arriving later in the afternoon.

“Winds picking up in strength with coastal gales developing as the rain arrives.

“Tonight: Wet and windy this evening with heavy bursts of rain possible.

“Drier interludes emerging overnight as winds ease, though still some showery outbreaks at times.

“Chilly but largely frost free.

“Minimum temperature 3C.”
