Emmerdale reveals five characters’ escape plan amid Celia terror

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has revealed which five characters plan to escape from the clutches of the villainous Celia Daniels. Since her arrival on the soap, Celia has terrorised the community by running a number of illegal operations.

Among those to come under Celia’s control is April Windsor, who has been manipulated into dealing drugs for Celia and her son, Ray Walters.

Celia and Ray also attempted to force April to sleep with different men, though she didn’t go through with it. After April got into an altercation with one of the men named Callum, Celia let April believe that she killed him.

In last night’s episode, April finally revealed all to her dad Marlon Dingle and stepmum Rhona Goskirk, and Marlon told Rhona that they were going to get April out of harm’s way.

Picking up where we left off, tonight’s episode saw Marlon tell Rhona that he was going to go to the police. “I’m putting a stop to it,” he said. “I’m going to tell the police everything. Everything they’ve done to April, everyone.”

When Marlon and Rhona explained to April that they wanted to go to the police station, April protested, fearing that she would be arrested for drug dealing.

Despite her reluctance to go, Marlon took April to the police station, saying: “I think once they know what we’ve got to say they’ll have the pair of them off the street in no time.”

After April saw a vision of the future in which Ray shot Marlon, she backed out of saying anything, fearing for her family’s safety. Marlon spoke to the police, who said they couldn’t do much without evidence.

Later, Marlon and April got home to find Ray sitting menacingly behind Rhona. Ray gave a threatening speech about them going to the police and April swore that she didn’t say anything.

When Ray left, Marlon told a terrified Rhona that he had told the police what they were there for rather than make an official statement. Fearing that Ray would find out, Marlon said that he wanted to flee from the village with Rhona, April, Leo and Ivy.

“This is what we do. We gather what evidence we’ve got and we get out,” he said. “We pack light. We don’t tell anyone and we stay at some B&B.”

He added: “We’ve got to go Rhona. All of us, tomorrow. We’re doing it.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
