Ex-Rockstar Employee’s Demo Reel Leaks Online, And Yes, GTA 6 Is In It

If Grand Theft Auto 6 hadn’t been delayed not once but twice, there’s a good chance we’d all be sitting around playing the next open world crime adventure from Rockstar Games right about now. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case, and as well all wait for a new trailer, fans have been subjected to a number of AI-generated “leaks” that aren’t real.
Well, what about a real leak?

Take-Two could charge any price for GTA 6 and you would still buy it.
Because, as first spotted on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours sub, an ex-Rockstar employee’s demo reel has leaked online, and there’s about 19 seconds of new GTA 6 footage to be found.
It’s Not Much, But In These Trying Times, We’ll Take It
On Vimeo, Ben Chue, a character animator, had his demo reel shared online, one that includes about two minutes of concepts, with a vast majority of it being from his time at Rockstar.
The first 19 seconds or so are from GTA 6, and showcase a male character removing a bicycle from a bike rack to ride and then later putting the bike back, as well as a female character standing on top of a truck before dropping back down to the street.
In true Rockstar fashion, the in-game rentable bicycles will be called LOMBikes, a riff on the popular electric bicycle company, Lime Bikes.
In all, it’s pretty mundane footage, but it’s a perfect example of the kind of detail that Rockstar has long prioritized in its titles.
For example, in the bike sequence, the character accurately walks the bike backwards to remove it from the communal rack before setting it down to ride. When he gets on top of the bike and places his feet on the pedals, you can see the pedals briefly shift to account for movement.
Unlike those AI leaks, Chue was at one point a Rockstar Games employee, with MobyGames credits for Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, Max Payne 3 and several other Rockstar titles. Go figure, the rest of the demo reel includes footage from his work on those titles.
As of this writing, the Vimeo link has not been taken down, though it’s unclear if there would be any reason for it to be removed. The other titles included have already been released, and it’s not a secret that characters will be able to ride bicycles or exit vehicles in GTA 6. Then again, in this wild world of leaks, perhaps there’s an NDA somewhere.
