Swift starts: Portsmouth team news and predicted XI to face Charlton Athletic

Portsmouth are looking to kick of December with a win as they travel to Charlton on Saturday as the early kick off.
Portsmouth have a huge away game on Saturday as they face a Charlton Athletic side struggling for form.
Pompey have won just one of their last nine Championship games, suffering defeats against Bristol City and Sheffield United after the win over Millwall. It leaves them 22nd and inside the relegation zone with 17 points from 18 matches.

John Mousinho‘s side sit bottom of the away table in the Championship, managing only one win away from Fratton Park.
Portsmouth’s points at home vs away
As for Charlton Athletic, they have lost four straight coming into the Portsmouth game. Nathan Jones’ men have conceded 11 goals in their last three games.
Portsmouth team news
Mousinho confirmed speaking to the press earlier this week that Harvey Blair will be in contention to make the squad on Saturday.
Blair was hit with a hamstring injury on the last day of last season. A summer of rehabilitation saw him make two substitute appearances against Watford and Middlesbrough before he got injured again.

Andre Dozzell will also miss the game against Charlton Athletic due to suspension. The midfielder picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Bristol City.
Left-backs Connor Ogilvie and Jacob Farrell remain sidelined. Conor Shaughnessy is also still out.
Predicted XI
(4-2-3-1)
Schmid; Swanson, Knight, Poole, Williams; Pack, Swift; Lang, Segecic, Murphy; Bishop
Portsmouth will likely only make one change from their defeat at home against Bristol City. Dozzell’s suspension means the midfield will have to be changed for Mousinho’s side.
Nicolas Schmid came back into the team after a period of time on the sideline and will continue to be Pompey’s number one.

The back line will likely remain unchanged. Terry Devlin returning from suspension may come back into the side at full-back, however Mousinho may retain his trust in Jordan Williams and Zak Swanson.
A big decision will be made in midfield for Portsmouth due to the suspended Andre Dozzell. Luke Le Roux, John Swift and Mark Kosznovszky are options in that position, but the former has not been in a matchday squad since Pompey played Hull City in early November and the latter has featured in a more advanced role, so it will likely be Swift who makes the start.
Josh Murphy and Callum Lang will continue in the wide areas providing width and dynamism, but Yang Min-hyeok and the fit-again Blair are options. Adrian Segecic will operate in behind the striker.
Colby Bishop will likely spearhead the attack despite only scoring one goal in 18 this season for Pompey.
