Chris Bell’s time with Louisville football is over, but his NFL draft stock may be at risk.
The wide receiver reportedly tore his ACL against SMU during the ACC finale on Nov. 22, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Bell, projected to be a first-round pick, was the team’s leading receiver and ended his senior season with 917 yards and six touchdowns on 72 catches. He had 46 yards on five receptions in the Cardinals’ 38-6 loss to SMU and missed the Governor’s Cup against Kentucky. It was the first game he’d missed as a starter for the Cardinals.
Dacari Collins is Bell’s backup and will likely get the start in the Cards’ Boca Raton Bowl game against Toledo on Dec. 23.
