Anne Hathaway shows off her natural skin texture and visible pores in new close-up pictures

Anne Hathaway’s latest Instagram drop might technically be about that razor-sharp, side-parted bob and ruffled couture situation she’s serving, but for us, the real headline is her skin – because, ladies and gentlemen, she’s showing it for what it exactly is. Texture, fine lines, pores ‘n’ all! Aka, actual human details. And honestly? We’re all for it.

In the age of filters so strong they could legally qualify as witness protection, seeing a Hollywood A-lister post an un-filtered close-up feels borderline radical. Anne’s glam is immaculate, sure – the graphic liner, the sculptural hair, the old-Hollywood black and white snap – but the fact that she hasn’t blurred every microscopic pixel of reality makes the whole look so much more iconic.

Everyone’s clicking on…

Here at Cosmo UK, we’ve long been obsessed with celebs ditching the smoothing apps and letting their natural skin texture breathe online. Whether it’s bare-faced red carpet snaps (hey, Pamela Anderson), visible pores in social media posts (Selena Gomez, take the stand), or freckles getting the spotlight they deserve (Hailey Bieber, we see you), these moments remind us of something deeply important: skin has texture because you are alive! And that is a very good thing!

Of course, celebs have access to the crème de la crème of skincare, high-tech facials and tweakments that cost more than our rent. This, as well as makeup, can help conceal blemishes, even tone and smooth texture, but even with this, human skin will always look like… well, skin! And yes, Anne’s photo is glamorous, but it’s also a tiny rebellion peeking through the filter-heavy world.

So let it be known: we are pro-texture, pro-reality and extremely pro-Anne-Hathaway-not-Facetuning-her-face. More of this, please!
