Strictly Come Dancing fans have said they ‘haven’t seen enough’ in a demand over two of the show’s professional dancers, with just weeks to go until the series comes to an end.
This Saturday night’s (December 6) live show will mark the quarterfinal stage of this year’s competition, as well as the annual Musicals Week special, where the five remaining couples will perform to songs from some well-known stage shows and musical films.
Those who have made it to week 11 of the BBC One dance competition was decided last weekend during what was described as a ‘chaotic’ visit to Strictly’s famous ballroom.
Viewers who tuned in last Saturday night (November 29) saw the live episode began as normal, with each couple performing their choreographed dances. It was then towards the end of the show, after each couple had performed their choreographed dance, they returned to the dancefloor to learn what dance they would have to perform and the accompanying music for the Instant Dance challenge.
The mystery dance tested their knowledge, as it was one that they learned over the course of the competition and was revealed in an envelope which they picked out last week but did not open until the live show.
They were then given 15 seconds to pick a costume, quickly change backstage, and then given just ten seconds to decide how they were going to perform the dance, The judges ranked each of the performances, with the best earning six points and the worst earning just one.
Head judge Shirley Ballas said it was a very close call for first place, but gave the win to Lewis Cope and Katya Jones, who “took chances” on their jive, winning six additional points. It put them top of the leaderboard, after originally being in second, behind joint leaders Karen Carney and her partner Carlos Gu, and Amber Davies and pro Nikita Kuzmin, who both received perfect scores for their main dances of the evening.
Kai and Karen were seen performing together during the show’s latest musical guest’s performance
It was then during Sunday’s (November 30) results show that Lewis and Katya, Karen and Carlos, Amber and Nikita, George Clarke and Alexis Warr and Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon were all confirmed to be through to the Strictly 2025 series quarter-final, following the sad exit of Alex Kingston and Johannes Radebe.
However, it was during the results show that fans became distracted by two of the show’s professional dancers, Karen Hauer and Kai Widdrington, as the pair performed alongside Myles Smith while he sang his track, “Stay (If You Wanna Dance)”.
And it’s fair to say fans loved the pro pairing. @grace.m.carter said: “Loved Karen and Kai in this – the energy was palpable!” @danushka851 commented: “Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this is the first time I’ve seen @karenhauer & @kaiwidd pro dance together. They were amazing. Do it again.”
@nyealison wrote: “Loved this routine and Karen and Kai dancing together. @karenhauer is my favourite, Queen.” @curlygirlsal posted: “We haven’t seen enough of @karenhauer dancing this series, she and Kai are brilliant in this routine.” @johamand shared: “@karenhauer and @kaiwidd need to dance together more often, my faves.” @jolunn53 added: “Karen n Kai are Perfect Together x Fabulous Routine x They should Dance together more.”
