‘Love Island’ star Chelley Bissainthe reveals Ace Greene breakup

True love has floated adrift for “Love Island USA” stars Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene.
The reality-TV couple, who found love on Season 7 of Peacock’s hit dating competition series, have broken up, Bissainthe revealed during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio on Friday, Dec. 12.
After Page Six Radio cohost Danny Murphy asked if the couple planned on moving in together soon, Bissainthe said she and Greene had “decided to part ways.”
“It really was a tough decision for the both of us and very hard to decide,” Bissainthe continued. “But when you love someone, sometimes loving someone means letting go, so I think we just got to that decision.”
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Greene for comment.
Bissainthe stayed mum on the reasoning for the pair’s split but added that the breakup came from a “mutual level of respect and understanding.”
“We wanted this to work, but sometimes things don’t work. Couples go through things that are very challenging and sometimes the best thing to do is just make a decision that needs to be made,” Bissainthe said. “The details aren’t really necessary. I think we can be peaceful and just understand that we’re good with being able to be on the same page.”
Bissainthe and Greene nearly clinched victory during their “Love Island” run, but the couple was eliminated during Week 5 of the competition, just two days before Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales were crowned.
“I’m going to miss the villa, but I feel like my purpose here was fulfilled. I got what I was looking for, so I can’t be mad,” Bissainthe said at the time of their elimination, while Greene added: “I feel like I came in here and conquered and did what I wanted to do, which was find a person, and Chelley was that comfort, that person who I feel like I could be myself around.”
