Hansi Flick confirms Barcelona captain’s position against Osasuna – ‘We’ll see…’

As FC Barcelona get set to take on CA Osasuna in a few minutes at the Spotify Camp Nou, manager Hansi Flick has made two changes to the team that started against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Both changes come in the final third, where Ferran Torres replaces Robert Lewandowski as the centre-forward, while Marcus Rashford has come into the team at the expense of Fermin Lopez.

With Rashford set to occupy the left flank, Flick was asked who would be slotting in the No. 10 role between Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Raphinha has played as a central attacking midfielder on a number of occasions in the past, while Flick tried Lamine in the role against Real Betis, and the youngster excelled as well.

Talking about who would occupy the position behind the striker, the Barcelona head coach said: “We’ll see.”

But, he went on to confirm that it would be Raphinha who would line up as the attacking midfielder while Lamine continues on the right.

“Raphinha will start as a number 10 and Lamine as a number 7, then we’ll see how the game unfolds,” the coach commented.

Flick acknowledged that Osasuna will pose a challenge for the team, saying: “They defend very well. We have to maintain our position and show our quality.”

Concluding, he added: “I see the players very focused; they are prepared for this match. Every game is different; it starts 0-0. We want to win; that’s our objective.”
