Featured tee time for Round 2
Lexi Thompson made headlines worldwide when she announced her decision to step away from full-time professional golf at the end of the 2024 season. But fans were thrilled to watch Lexi tee it up 13 times on the LPGA Tour in 2025. While she didn’t post a win, she came close, with a runner-up finish at the Dow Championship in June.
It’s been more than six years since Lexi last lifted a trophy, but thanks to an epic opening score of 17-under 55 alongside partner Wyndham Clark on Friday, this weekend could be the one that brings her dry spell to an end. The two major-winning stars are tied with Charley Hull and Michael Brennan for the tournament lead, and hold a two-shot advantage over the next-closest team of Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak at 15 under par.
Thompson and Clark will tee off in the final pairing at 12:24 p.m. ET alongside Hull and Brennan on Saturday afternoon. The format for Round 2 will be foursomes (alternate shot).
You can watch Saturday’s second round of the 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational from 2-3 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, followed by the NBC broadcast from 3-5 p.m. ET. You can also stream a live simulcast of Golf Channel’s Saturday coverage via NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports App, while Peacock will stream the NBC portion.
