Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall lasted fewer than 15 minutes on his return to Chelsea. The playmaker is Everton’s joint-top goalscorer in the Premier League after a stunning November in which he helped them to wins at Manchester United and Bournemouth and at home to Nottingham Forest.
The 27-year-old narrowly missed out on the Premier League’s player of the month accolade for November as a result.
He returned to the attacking midfield role that David Moyes appears to prefer him in at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Idrissa Gueye came back from suspension to partner James Garner in the middle – something Dewsbury-Hall had done during his the Senegalese’s absence.

That left Dewsbury-Hall in the number 10 role but he was forced off after going down around 13 minutes into the match. He appeared in some discomfort and was clutching the back of his leg, suggesting he may have had a hamstring concern.
The England hopeful walked straight down the tunnel and was replaced by Carlos Alcaraz.
Any injury to Dewsbury-Hall will come as a hammer blow to Blues boss Moyes.
Not only has the summer signing been one of the stars of his side’s excellent start to the season, Moyes will lose Iliman Ndiaye and Gueye on Monday as the pair head to Morocco to represent Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Garner is also on four yellow cards – meaning that he is just one booking from a suspension that would rule him out of a game amid Gueye’s absence.
Chelsea opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Cole Palmer.
