Norman Flynn would reportedly have made another rather unexpected statement about the captain of the Montreal Canadiens, Nick Suzuki.
I say “reportedly,” because I simply can’t believe it, but based on what’s circulating right now, it appears to be very real.
Norman Flynn allegedly stated, on the air at RDS, that he would take Claude Giroux over Nick Suzuki to represent Canada at the Olympic Games, because the Canadiens’ number 14 “would not be solid enough defensively,” in his view. Wow.
Claude Giroux over Nick Suzuki to represent Canada at the Olympic Games?
“On RDS L’Antichambre tonight:
Norman Flynn – who once argued that the Habs should trade Nick Suzuki for Wayne Simmonds – said that Suzuki is not good enough defensively to make Team Canada’s Olympic team.
He says that Canada should instead take…Claude Giroux.”

Let’s just say it was a bold statement, and fans had plenty to say about it.
And in your opinion, which of Nick Suzuki or Claude Giroux would be more useful for Team Canada at the 2026 Olympic Games?
