Dakota Johnson to play android in sci-fi flick

Actress Dakota Johnson is set to play an android on the run in a new near-future science-fiction movie called “Trudy Blue.”
The film, being directed by Angus MacLane, has a script from “Bubble & Squeak” writer-director Evan Twohy.
MacLane recently directed and co-penned the Chris Evans-led survival action movie “Lightyear”. He also co-directed the billion-dollar hit “Finding Dory”.
As per a statement, the film is: “A grounded sci-fi action movie set in the near future, about an outlawed android maid who wakes up in a landfill 2,000 miles from home and must embark on a journey through a now foreign world to get back to where she belongs.”
On the work front, Dakota seen earlier this year in “Materialists” and “Splitsville”. “Trudy Blue” will mark the first time that the actress will be starring in this kind of genre. Johnson will next be seen in the upcoming psychological thriller “Verity”, based on Colleen Hoover’s 2018 novel. She will be starring opposite Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett.
