Chet Holmgren Teases Thunder’s NSFW 4th-Quarter Bench Antics Amid Dominant 24-1 Start

The return of Jalen Williams has allowed the Oklahoma City Thunder to notch another belt in their armor, as a historic start to the 2025-26 season continues for the reigning NBA champions. But before the playoffs get started, their first order of business is the NBA Cup.
Thanks to a dominant victory over the Phoenix Suns, they are now confirming a trip to Vegas. And a celebratory mood for the roster allowed Chet Holmgren to make a hilarious admission about the team’s antics, particularly on the sidelines during blowouts.
Chet Holmgren Makes Wild Admission About the Thunder Roster
A top-five offense and a historic defensive rating have been the foundation of the success Oklahoma City has enjoyed this season. At 24-1, they are tied with the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors for the greatest start in NBA history.
While the legendary 73-9 record seems to be in jeopardy, the new basketball calendar has them vying for the NBA Cup first. Thanks to a demolition of the Suns in the Quarter-Finals, they now await a date with the San Antonio Spurs in the Semi-Finals.
But, before they could focus on their next clash, Holmgren, who had an insane highlight reel against Phoenix, joined the coverage team on NBA on Prime. Speaking about the dominant start for the Thunder, Holmgren was all smiles about their success.

When asked about what the team gets up to on the sidelines in the fourth quarter, particularly on nights like this one, where they blew out the Suns by 49 points, the star center made an interesting revelation.
“A lot of conversations not appropriate for TV.” As the crew broke down in laughter, he added, “Just joking around, I had my slides on, just enjoying watching everybody that is on the floor.”

A testament to the incredible chemistry and cohesion that this 12-deep Thunder roster has built, Holmgren gave the bench guys a ton of credit. “They’re in it with us every single day, putting in the same amount of work. So we’re just as happy for them to be out there as if we were hooping out there ourselves.”
That mentality has been at the forefront of the success that Oklahoma City has had this season. With a 24-1 record, it doesn’t look like they have many equals in the league right now.
Moreover, their depth, which has allowed them to mitigate damage even through injuries, has been made all the more lethal by the mentality that the locker room shares, as Holmgren explained.
