Minnesota Twins Sign Josh Bell

*This is a prediction*

The Minnesota Twins are coming off a rough 2025 season where they finished with a 70-92 record, and were major sellers at the MLB trade deadline. Things don’t get any easier for the Twins this offseason when it comes to the future of the team, as they are in debt and must figure out their pathway for the future.

For the Twins, though, they have to still find a way to build a competitive roster to start to turn things around. One way in which Minnesota can do so is by signing more mid-tier free agents that can provide an impact while also not expecting massive contracts.

One free agent the Twins can look to sign that fits this mold is Josh Bell.

The Minnesota Twins need to find an answer at their first base spot, as a season from Kody Clemens where he had hit a slash line of .216/.284/.442 isn’t going to cut it. The Twins need more production and power from their lineup, and can achieve this through signing Josh Bell.

Josh Bell might be 33 years old, but still had a productive season in 2025 as he had a .237/.325/.417 slash line with 22 home runs and 63 RBIs. Over his entire 10-year career, Bell has shown he is a proven slugger with having a career slash line of .256/.341/.443 with 193 home runs and 676 RBIs.

If the Twins are serious about competing, then they have to add a slugger to their lineup. Josh Bell would fit that mold, and would also bring the experience needed to help in being a mentor and leader for the rest of the team to look at and learn from going forward. Bell has everything that Minnesota needs and won’t be looking for a large contract either.
