Lucie Alcock studies in Liverpool and won a whopping £100k prize on the 1% Club Rollover

A Liverpool student was amazed to land a whopping jackpot prize on the 1% Club Rollover. Lucie Alcock competed on the spin off of the ITV show last week.

The show is hosted by Lee Mack and sees contestants try to pass a series of increasingly difficult logic problems. If anyone can answer the question only 1% of the population could get right then they could head home with a huge jackpot. The spin off airs daily across the course of the week and sees contestants be able to win an even bigger cash prize as the amount rolls over to the next edition.

Contestants who reach the final 1% stage are able to compete for even more money on the following day. Lucie was one of the big winners from last week’s episodes as she became the first person in a normal edition of the show to win the whole £100,000 jackpot.

She followed Michelle who had bagged a rollover amount the night before to win £194,000. Lucie was speechless after she won the prize in the episode that aired on Wednesday (December 10).

She was up against four contestants in the final, when she was presented with the 1% question. The question read: “What letter of the alphabet replaces the question mark in this sequence?”

The sequence read as follows: “Angle Re Gon?” Lucie correctly answered N as the reason behind the sequence was explained: “The sequence is names of shapes each missing the same numbers of letters from the beginning of their names as the number of sides they have.”

The full sequence with all the letters included is Triangle, Square, Pentagon and Hexagon.

The explanation of the winning 1% Club question

Lucie said it took about half of the given time for her to work out the answer. Lee said: “So you totally understood it, it wasn’t just a wild guess?”

Lucie appeared on the show the following the day as she revealed she went on and got quite drunk after the incredible win. She also laughed her mum was in disbelief that she landed the big prize.

The law student told Lee: “She thought I was lying. She didn’t believe me for a second. It took a solid two minutes to be I have won it. We went out and I got quite drunk.”

Lucie didn’t reach the final of the next episode but still got to take home her incredible prize winnings.
