Where To Find Candleberries In ‘Arc Raiders’ During The Cold Snap Event And What They’re Used For

A chill is in the air. Raiders going topside in Embark Studios’ hit video game, Arc Raiders, will now get to play in the snow. A Cold Snap has arrived, and the citizens of Speranza have tasked Raiders with a new mission: Find a whole bunch of Candleberries.

The Cold Snap is a new map condition similar to Electromagnetic Storms or Night Raids. It rotates across different maps such as Blue Gate, Buried City and Dam Battlegrounds, and it comes with some both higher risk and higher rewards.

The higher risk is rather chilling, however. Staying outside for too long inflicts Raiders with Frostbite, which rather quickly depletes your health. Taking shelter inside slowly warms you back up – you can even see the frost melting on your outfit – so managing the cold is very important. Getting into a gunfight outside is more perilous than ever (though lightning certainly kills you faster).

Where To Find Candleberries In ‘Arc Raiders’

In order to find Candleberries, you’ll need to load into a Cold Snap match, as the elusive Candleberry Bush is only harvestable in winter. These bushes are easy to spot thanks to the bright red berries hanging from their branches.

Your best bet is to head to any area on a map where you’d normally find similar items like Lemons and Apricots, typically (but not always) marked with a Nature icon. Locations like the Swamp in Dam Battlegrounds, or the north trench on Space Port are good places to go. You can also find Candleberries in baskets.

Normally, Lush Bloom events are the best time to find fruit, Olives, Mushrooms and so forth, but Cold Snap appears to be even more lush. I found 11 Mushrooms on a single tree in Space Port in one match. If you’re still upgrading your rooster, Scrappy, this is a good time to find those items. Like other riskier modifiers, Cold Snap also comes with a higher chance of better loot in general – and the latest update has also increased Blueprint drops.

You’ll also earn Candleberries by working on the Gathering Candleberries event, where simply earning XP – which converts to Merits – unlocks a bunch of rewards.

What Are Candleberries Used For?

The main purpose of Candleberries is the Flickering Flames event. The Speranzans are planning a Candleberry Banquet, and you’ll need to contribute numerous items to this event in order to unlock all of its rewards, which include new items, Raider Tokens, weapons and more.

This is how Embark explains the allure of the Candleberry:

For Speranzans, this hardy plant is a versatile asset during the winter months: boiling the berry creates a wax that burns for hours. Crushing them yields a refreshing juice while the roots make for a tea that drives out the toughest colds. Candleberries make hearty stews, warming soups, and gifts of perfume and soap, while the wreaths can be fashioned into festive decorations that offer Speranzans a hint of Topside’s greenery. Speranza needs A LOT of them for the Candleberry Banquets!

You can also sell Candleberries or break them down into Seeds, but I don’t recommend doing either until you’ve completed the event. Cold Snap will remain through January 13th, so you have plenty of time to get all of this done. A new Deck drops on the 26th, with lots of stuff to unlock with Credits you earn from playing the game.

I’m enjoying Arc Raiders immensely. It’s one of my Top 5 Video Games of 2025 and certainly the best multiplayer game of the year. Are you enjoying the Cold Snap?
