Having progressed beyond Cardiff City, Chelsea are in the pot for this evening’s Carabao Cup semi-final draw.

The Blues were made to work hard in the Welsh capital by the League One leaders, but broke the deadlock just before the hour mark when substitute Alejandro Garnacho slotted home following a pass from Facundo Buonanotte.

Cardiff responded and levelled with 15 minutes to go when David Turnbull powered home a header. Yet Enzo Maresca’s side regrouped and struck twice in the final ten minutes, via Pedro Neto and a second for Garnacho, to secure our place in the last four.

When is the Carabao Cup semi-final draw?

The draw for the semi-finals will take place this evening (Wednesday 17 December) following the conclusion of the quarter-final contest between Newcastle United and Fulham.

It will begin at approximately 10.35pm UK time.

How can I watch the Carabao Cup semi-final draw?

The draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK. It will be hosted by Mark Chapman alongside pundits Jamie Redknapp and Shay Given.

When will the semi-finals be played?

The first legs of the semi-final ties are scheduled to take place the week commencing 12 January 2026. The second leg fixtures will be played the week commencing 2 February 2026.

How does the Carabao Cup semi-final draw work?

With the quarter-final tie between Arsenal and Crystal Palace taking place next week, both clubs will be represented by a single ball number in tonight’s draw. The winner of that quarter-final tie will then take their place against the drawn opponent for the semi-final.

Three other clubs, including Chelsea, will enter the draw alongside Arsenal and Crystal Palace following the conclusion of tonight’s matches.
