Self-Service Repair Program ‘ in 2022, selling parts and tools for repairing its products. Apple has announced a process for easily replacing the battery of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 in this self-service repair program.

In October 2025, iFixit published a teardown report of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5. According to iFixit, the design of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 makes it impossible to replace the battery without replacing multiple internal components. For this reason, iFixit described battery replacement in the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 as ‘one of the most difficult repair procedures.’

The battery in the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 is located in the blue line area and is made up of multiple battery cells of different shapes.
As you can see below, there are six battery cells, so removal is no easy feat.
Removing the entire battery
The replacement battery is as follows. All battery cells can be installed at the same time, and then you just need to peel off the film. This eliminates the hassle of checking the shape of each battery cell and installing them one by one.
