Stardew Valley creator says Switch 2 Edition news coming “very soon,” shares details on Ver. 1.7 update

Back in September, Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition was announced, and we were told it would be releasing sometime in Fall 2025. Seeing as how there’s just 4 days left until Fall ends and Winter begins, fans are wondering just what’s going on with this release. Thankfully, we have a tiny bit of insight from the game’s creator.

Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe has taken to social media to answer a fan question about what’s going on with the game’s Switch 2 Edition. While we didn’t get specifics, the dev did say that something will be announced “very soon,” and they also apologized for the wait. Let’s keep fingers crossed that the Fall 2025 release is still in the cards!

That’s not all there is for Stardew Valley though, as ConcernedApe has also been working on the game’s Ver. 1.7 update for all platforms. While that update doesn’t have a release date just yet, we have gotten a few tiny tidbits on what it’ll include. According to ConcernedApe, players can expect “more character/social stuff, a new farm type and lots more,” but that’s where the specifics stopped.
