Final ‘Anaconda’ trailer reveals return of a star from the original film

The final trailer for the new “Anaconda” movie starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black has quite the surprise at the end.

The premise of the remake is that a group of friends led by Rudd and Black and including Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn, set out to make their own version of the 1997 that they loved as kids. They travel all the way to the Amazon to film on location only to discover that a real, giant anaconda is lurking in the wild, forcing them into a fight to stay alive.

“The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed,” the synopsis explains.

The original “Anaconda” film starred Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, and Ice Cube (as well as a pre-fame Owen Wilson!) and has become something of a cult classic thanks to dated special effects, some genuinely thrilling moments, and some unintentionally funny ones.

The new “Anaconda” is going meta and full comedy with Rudd, Black, and their crew racing through the jungle trying to survive the monstrous animal.

The real highlight of the latest trailer comes at the end as a mysterious figure enters a chaotic scene firing a gun and pulling down his hood to reveal: Ice Cube!

The rapper/actor hands Rudd’s character a gun and says, “You’re gonna need that,” which Rudd questions.

“Of course, I got another one,” Ice Cube replies with a smile, as Rudd replies, “Respect.”

It’s unclear why Ice Cube is also in the Amazon at the same time as the would be filmmakers, but that’s a reveal best left to the movie when it hits theaters December 25.
