Report: Nuggets sign G Christian Braun to five-year, $125M extension

One of the Denver Nuggets’ better draft finds in recent years is cashing in.
Guard Christian Braun has signed a five-year, $125 million contract extension to stay with the Nuggets through the 2030-31 season, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Monday.
Braun was selected by the Nuggets with the 21st pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and blossomed into an everyday starter for the side last season.
He averaged 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 58.0 per cent from the field and 39.7 per cent from three-point range in his third season. He added 12.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game in the playoffs.
The 24-year-old was set to become a restricted free agent after the 2025-26 season, but will now join a growing list of Nuggets players locked up for the long term, with Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon all under contract for at least the next two seasons.
Braun was integral to the Nuggets’ full-court play last season, finishing with 492 points in transition — good for fourth in the NBA.
The Burlington, Ks., native won an NBA championship with the Nuggets in his rookie season in 2023.
