Nepo baby’s surprise show roasted: ‘Awful’

She’s the daughter of one of the most famous musicians in the world – but not everyone’s convinced she’s inherited his talent.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s eldest child, Apple Martin, 21, took to the stage at Cannery Hall in Nashville recently for a surprise gig, singing alongside musical duo Jade Street ahead of her musical debut on their track, Satellite.
However, when footage from the night began circulating on social media, some of the reaction was less than flattering.
“That’s awful,” one user wrote bluntly under a video of the performance on TikTok.
Among the other comments were “please spare the world”, “those nepo babies are out of control”, “sounds rough”, “someone needs to tell her” and “sometimes the Apple does fall far from the tree”.
Ouch.

Over on Apple’s official Instagram account though, it was quite a different story.
The aspiring model and singer posted a video of the performance herself – which appeared to have a studio recording of the song over it – and it attracted plenty of praise from friends and followers.
“Daddy’s voice!” one gushed, while another said: “OMG I love your voice!”
“The effortless beauty of [mum] and the voice of dad! Love this!” added another.
“Blessed with a beautiful voice,” a follower told her.
Apple is the only daughter of Paltrow, 53, and Martin, 48. They share son Moses, 19, too – and he also is following in his famous dad’s footsteps as a guitarist in the band Dancer.
Coldplay is one of the most successful bands of the 21st century, having won seven Grammy Awards and selling more than 160 million records worldwide.
Throughout her stellar acting career, Paltrow has also showcased her musical side in films such as Duets, Infamous and Country Song.
