Wet and breezy for Dublin Marathon with ‘mixed’ outlook for the week ahead

Next week is set to be mixed, with some wet and breezy conditions at times.
Conditions may not be ideal for runners in today’s Dublin Marathon, with a wet and breezy day on the cards before we head into a week of “mixed” weather.
It will be dry and cloudy to kick off the first morning of daylight savings but rain and drizzle will spread across the country, and it will also turn breezy during the morning.
That rain will clear during the afternoon, with highs of 10 to 13C.
Tonight will be wet in some areas including the southwest, where patches of rain or drizzle will remain, while there will be scattered showers in Ulster counties. Lows will be between 7 and 11C.
Bank holiday Monday will start off dry in most areas, however the west and southwest will see some rain and Ulster will get more showers.
Cloud and rain will spread across the country during the afternoon. Highest temperatures will range from 10 to 14C.
Met Éireann’s outlook for next week is “mixed”, with wet and breezy conditions expected at times.
There are good signs for Tuesday, when there will be “plenty of dry and bright weather”. Some showers will arrive in the north and west of the country, with highest temperatures of 11 to 13C.
Overnight cloud will continue in the south into Wednesday, bringing some patches of light rain or drizzle. It will be mainly dry otherwise with some sunshine, though the northwest will continue to see some showers.
More cloud will build up during the late afternoon and evening on Wednesday, bringing rain in the southern half of the country. Highs will be between 10 and 12C.
There is “uncertainty” in Met Éireann’s forecast beyond that, but current signs for Thursday show a spell of “wet and blustery” weather is a possibility.
