A person has been taken to hospital after being headbutted outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Exeter.
Police were called to the scene of the attack outside Hampton by Hilton hotel, near Exeter Airport, on Saturday afternoon (October 25).
The victim was headbutted and taken to hospital for treatment.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing but at the time of reporting, no arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We received a report of assault related to protests outside the Hampton by Hilton hotel on Saturday afternoon.
“It was reported that a person was headbutted and taken to hospital.
“Our enquiries are ongoing.”
In August, DevonLive reported that the hotel in Exeter is housing mostly families, women and children.
Asylum hotels became a focal point over the summer with multiple demonstrations taking place across Exeter, Plymouth, Bristol, and the rest of the country.
It is not known if the attack on Saturday involved people from a protest and counter-protest, which took place in the High Street earlier in the day.
