Gunfire rang out in Abbotsford once again, for the second time in less than three days, with the Abbotsford Police Department responding to a shooting on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at 9:22 a.m. in the 31300 block of Ridgeview Drive, right on the street, according to police.
One adult male had suffered a gunshot wound, causing three nearby schools to be placed under a temporary shelter-in-place protocol, which has since been lifted.
The Abbotsford Police Department said that details are still sparse as officers work to investigate the area.
“A significant police presence will remain in the area throughout the day supporting the ongoing investigation,” said the police.
This is the second recent shooting to take place in the city, with the prior one occurring early Saturday morning.
In the Oct. 25 shooting, one person suffered minor injuries, with the police saying that they don’t believe the incident was connected to extortion.
